NASA’s robot can swim and fly

A team of researchers at the agency’s Reactive Engine Laboratory is in the process of testing the 3D prototype of the machine in Pasadena, California.

The robot, called the Shapeshifter, can rotate, fly, navigate and swim while exploring distant worlds.

NASA describes the creation as a “drone-like device enclosed in an elongated rodent wheel,” which can be rotated and then split into two parts.

After the parts are split from nasa researchers, the two halves rise into small propellers, turning the robot into a flying drone for aerial exploration.

What other limits is nasa trying to reach?
